Bioseed Research Philippines Inc., a subsidiary of DCM Shriram Ltd., an Indian conglomerate engaged in diverse businesses such as agriculture and chlor-vinyl, among others, has been a hybrid seed producer in the Philippines since 1992. Being one of a handful of biotechnology companies with expertise across the board, we not only focus on the technical aspects but also take pride in our 3farm management and farmer interaction.

We have our headquarters in Gen. Santos City, in the south of the Philippines, and our satellite office in Aurora, Isabela, in the north.

HISTORY AND LEGACY

DCM Shriram took over Bioseed in 2002 as part of an initiative by DCM Shriram to create value in the farmlands of India and beyond. Huge investments in people, research facilities, and seed processing infrastructure followed the takeover.

Today, Bioseed owns a vast pool of germplasm, which is among the richest in the world. This gene pool has one of the highest success rates in all of Asia. Bioseed has expanded its operations to Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines and extended its coverage to Indonesia, Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, and Nepal.

The company’s pan-Asian spread has facilitated the cross-fertilization of ideas, resulting in unique biotechnology solutions that will benefit several countries with similar climatic and geographical conditions.

Bioseed is one of the few biotechnology companies with far-ranging expertise across several areas, including research and development, field and lab testing, data review, production, farm management, and farmer interaction.
